Reports, 1810-1814.

This series consists of reports from James Magoffin, Territorial Commissioner for Washington County, to the Territorial Auditor of Public Accounts. The reports are "of all sums of money which have become due or owing to the Mississippi Territory and the county of Washington, as exhibited by the books, minutes and papers of the offices of the Clerk of the Superior Court, Clerk of the County Court, Sheriff, County Treasurer, and Colonel of Washington County." It was the duty of the Commissioners, according to the Act of 1814, Jan. 22, to examine and report on the state or situation of certain territorial offices.
